Bearings
SKF manufactures almost all types of ball and roller bearings. Many are available in more than four SKF performance classes:

SKF Standard

Standard SKF bearings are known for their superior quality and long service life. However, some applications need to carry heavier loads while reducing friction, heating and wear in the bearing. SKF Explorer bearings are the best choice for these applications.

SKF Explorer

Bearings in the SKF Explorer performance class have been proven to run smoother, smoother and longer than non-Explorer bearings. Developed for heavier load applications, SKF Explorer bearings are manufactured from extremely clean, homogeneous steel that has undergone a unique heat treatment. The unique heat treatment provides an optimum balance between hardness and durability. Internal geometry and cages have been optimized to reduce friction and wear. The coating of all residential surfaces facilitates the formation of the hydrodynamic film.

SKF Energy Saver

A technology that provides even a small reduction in energy consumption due to the ever-increasing need for energy savings is a significant development. With over 100 years of engineering knowledge and unmatched expertise in tribology and related sciences, SKF has created the SKF Energy Saving (E2) performance class.
While SKF bearings consistently deliver higher efficiency and reliability, this new performance class has been a major breakthrough. SKF E2 bearings reduce frictional losses in a bearing by up to 30% compared to a similarly sized standard SKF bearing. This means that the reduction can be even higher compared to bearings from other manufacturers.

SKF High Precision Bearings

SKF offers high precision bearings to meet the ever-increasing performance requirements for precision applications. These bearings have an optimized design that allows them to adapt to higher speeds compared to bearings in the previous very precision performance class. The advantages of the new performance class are proven by the improved overall bearing performance. Bearings in the high precision performance class have the following characteristics:

A wide variety of plain bearings, rod ends and bushings are also available. The design and material types for these bearings are quite extensive.
Units

SKF bearing units usually consist of a bearing, seal, oil and shaft locking mechanism. Units are pre-assembled and factory set. These ready-to-install units are available with ball or roller bearings.
In addition to the all-steel standard units, SKF also has more specific standard products targeting a specific industry, such as the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries where specific materials, oils, seals and bearings are needed.
Beds

SKF designs and manufactures a variety of bearing housings and bearing seals to match the high performance characteristics of SKF bearings. These bearings and seals are known for their quality and durability. In addition to unique design features that facilitate assembly, adjustment and relubrication, SKF bearings are precision machined to determine the full service life of the assembled bearing.
